This four-year, State of Pennsylvania registered program is designed to prepare the serious-minded for a career in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. The program is held two nights a week - seven months a year. The related training is complemented by on-the-job training (OJT’s) the apprentice receives from their employer.
Registration opens July 1, 2025 for the Fall 2025 to Spring 2026 Apprentice Program.
Registration Eligibility for 1st and 2nd year classes. To qualify for 2nd year classes, you will need to test out by August 2025.
ACCWPA's classes will start September 8, 2025, Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 at Rosedale Technical College.
This is a four-year program that combines 930 hours of classroom and lab training; 8000 hours of OJT requirements (only if you are working for a HVAC contractor that is registered with the PA Department of Labor & Industry), along with your EPA 608 certification, OSHA 10, NATE Core & NATE A/C & Heat pump certification upon completing, the successful student will receive an ACCWPA Diploma.
If the company, you work for has registered with the PA Department of Labor & Industry and you have completed the 8000 hours of OJT requirements then the company you work for can apply for your Journeymen’s Certificate.

First year classes are designed for entry level students who may or may not have some field experience or formal training. Second year students must have either completed the 1st year class OR if you have an employee who has entry level experience and training but needs more training and help to advance, you can have them "test out" of the first year and start in the 2nd year.
